Unfortunately, head lice remain a common and thoroughly exasperating part of primary school life. It is important to realise that schools no longer check children’s hair. So, as children spend so much time both playing and learning together, it is all too easy for head lice to spread. Anyone can get them and, contrary to popular belief, catching head lice has nothing to do with personal hygiene.
Therefore, parents are advised to check each child’s hair weekly and not wait for there to be symptoms. This is by far the best way to prevent head lice.
