Our staff is very talented, highly qualified and professional. Staff demonstrate the utmost care for the children in our school and the development and progress of each and every child. Each year, the School runs separate surveys to garner the views of staff, parents and pupils. In 2017’s staff survey, 95% of respondents agreed with the statement: “I enjoy the work I do”.
Every member of staff is dedicated to children’s well-being and success. Each works hard to foster a personalised learning environment for every child in our School. In addition to daytime education, staff provide numerous clubs and extra-curricular activities for the children so that children’s horizons are widened, their perceptions challenged and each child’s friendships with other children are deepened.
We have over 80 colleagues working in our school. This includes the Senior Leadership Team, teachers, Teaching Assistants working both in and out of the classroom, support staff for admin, finance, site and extended childcare provision. Every member of the West Wimbledon team, though, is focused on the learning, personal, social and emotional needs of every child in our school.
The Headteacher is superbly supported in the Senior Leadership Team by the two Deputy Headteachers, Rosie Williamson and Hilary Ali, each of whom leads on a number of specific areas across the entire school, including the Early Years Foundation Stage, our growing, wider community role and the curriculum and assessment. Our Assistant Headteacher, Seanne Wilmot, leads our Base for children with Autism (Treetops) and is the School’s SENCO.
The Leadership Team is enhanced by Emma Lewis, who is responsible for Key Stage 1 and Rachel Lally-McIntyre, who is responsible for Key Stage 2.
In addition, the Lead Teacher in Treetops, Monika Moranska is a full member of the Leadership Team. This year, we have three exemplary middle leaders, seconded to SLT, as part of their own professional development. Each is leading on a whole school initiative. They are Meghan Peatey, Kerrie Spreadborough and Zoe Hunt.
