Year 5 – Eagle

Eagle Class has had a fantastic start to the year. The children all look very smart in their school uniform and they are relishing the challenge of Year 5.
As well as their class teacher, Ms Callick, Eagle Class have Mrs Tunna, Mr Holmes and Miss Tanase working in the class.
Since we have returned to school in September, we have researched our class birds and used this information in our first class assembly. In Art we also used pastels and feathers to recreate Eagles which will be displayed outside our classroom.
The children have discussed what areas of the curriculum they would like to improve and suggested ways of doing this.
PE is on a Friday afternoon. One session is Taekwondo and the other session is the PE curriculum but taught by Fulham Football club. There has been a big thumbs up from the children so far!
Homework is given out on a Wednesday and is due back in school on the following Monday. There will be spellings to learn and times tables to practise. Please can the children write sentences using these spellings to ensure they understand what the words mean. One piece of Mathematics or English homework will be given out on alternate weeks.
Please can an adult sign the reading diary three times a week after listening to their child read. Talk about the book with your child and ask them questions to ensure they have understood what they have been reading. This will help them when they have to complete a reading comprehension at school.
Thank you for all the hard work you put in with your children at home.
